The Exclusive Platform - A True Wilderness Escape
Tucked deep within the African wilderness, The Platform offers an exclusive and immersive safari experience for the adventurous bush traveller. Located approximately 4 km from the main Kapula Camp, this secluded retreat provides privacy, tranquillity, and unparalleled views over Kapula Vlei.
We are thrilled to announce that The Platform has been upgraded to accommodate up to six guests, providing an even better experience! With uninterrupted views of a private waterhole, guests can enjoy incredible wildlife encounters right from camp.
Accommodation
Designed for those seeking complete privacy, The Platform is booked exclusively. Unlike our other camps, it is not serviced daily, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the wilderness. Staff will prepare the camp before arrival, ensuring everything is set for your stay.
Raised Game Viewing Platform
- Queen-sized bed at one end, offering stunning elevated views.
- Two mini-bar fridges and all necessary cooking equipment.
- Dining area with a table and seating for meals.
Ground Floor
- One bedroom with two single beds (western side).
- Multi-purpose middle section with dining facilities and a kitchen sink, adaptable to guest needs.
- Bathroom with shower, basin, and toilet.
Canvas Tented Accommodation
- A stand-alone tent (10m from the Platform) featuring a queen-sized bed.
- Outdoor en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet, and basin under the African sky.
Facilities
- Fully equipped kitchen with all necessary cooking essentials.
- Solar-powered lighting throughout the camp (no plug points inside the tent).
- Dedicated charging station for cell phones and camera batteries (no kettles, hairdryers, or other electrical appliances allowed).
- Limited firewood provided for hot water boilers and the evening fire pit.
Self-Catering Experience
Guests only need to bring their own food, drinks, and personal essentials.
Unlike our other camps, The Platform is not serviced daily. The Kapula team will prepare and clean the camp before your arrival, but guests will manage their own housekeeping during their stay.
A VHF radio is provided at The Platform, allowing guests to contact camp staff if needed.
Wildlife & Safety
- Overlooking a waterhole, offering fantastic game-viewing opportunities (please note that water supply to the waterhole is limited).
- Front section enclosed with a wooden barrier/boma; rear section secured with a mesh and electric fence for elephant deterrence.
- The entrance gate must remain closed at all times.
- The access road passes through Mopani scrub - guests must take caution and allow wildlife ample time to move off the road.
